abstract

in order to investigation of response of durum wheat genotypes to terminal drought stress, this experiment was conducted in neishabour agricultural research station during two growing seasons of 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. seventeen advanced durum wheat genotypes, two bread wheat cultivars and one durum wheat cultivar (i.e. 20 genotypes and cultivars) were evaluated in two separate experiments (normal and limited irrigation) based on a randomized complete block design with four replications. combined anova of grain yield data revealed that there were significant differences among genotypes for grain yield of durum wheat (p<0.01). on the base of results, between years as well as irrigation schedule were significant, while no significant interaction were detected. among durum wheat genotypes, line no. 15 ,14 and 4 has higher terminal drought tolerance comparison with the others. because of higher correlation between sti and mp with grain yield (under stress and nonstress condition), it seems that they can be used for screening of drought tolerant wheat genotypes. also, on the base of tol and ssi indices, line no. 7 and12 was the most sensitive genotypes in aspect of drought.

Evaluation of Drought Tolerance in Barley Genotypes (Hordeum vulgare L.) using Drought Tolerance Indices

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Drought stress is one of the most important factors in reducing yield and barley production in rainfed arid regions, and counteracting or reducing the effect of stresses as a useful solution to increase barley yield. Therefore, improvement of stress-tolerant and suitable barley cultivars for arid and semi-arid regions is essential. Material and Me...

Evaluation of Agro-Physiological Characteristics and Drought Tolerance in Some of Durum Wheat Breeding Genotypes

In order to study of agronomic, physiological characteristics, drought tolerance and to identify  Agro-physiological traits associated with drought tolerance, 19 durum wheat genotypes consisting of 17 advanced breeding lines and two control cultivars (Saji and Zahab) were evaluated in a randomized complete blocks design with three replicated under both stress (rainfed condition) and non-stress ...

Using Drought Tolerance Indices in Evaluation of Some Wheat, Triticale and Tritipyrum Genotypes

To evaluate drought tolerance in bread wheat, tritipyrum and triticale genotypes, 27 different genotypes were grown as a randomized complete block design under two irrigation regimes (control and drought) in two locations (Isfahan and Shiraz) during two growing seasons (2016 and 2017). Based on grain yield, several indices including stress tolerance index (STI), tolerance index (TOL), susceptib...

Evaluation of Drought Stress Tolerance in Some Faba Bean Genotypes Using Drought Tolerance Indices and Biochemical Compounds

In this study, different genotypes of faba bean were evaluated for Tolerance index and biochemical compounds under drought stress. 21 Genotypes of faba bean were studied based on RCBD design with three replications in two irrigation treatments (including normal irrigation and drought stress) during two cropping years (2018-2019) at Gorgan Agricultural Research Station. Based on the potential (Y...

Evaluation of drought Tolerance Indices in Dryland Bread wheat Genotypes under Post-Anthesis drought Stress

Post-anthesis drought stress is the most important problem affecting wheat production in dryland fields, specially in Mediterranean regions. The main objective of this research was to evaluate drought tolerance indices in dryland wheat genotypes under post-anthesis drought stress. The research was including two different experiments. In each experiment, twenty dryland bread wheat genotypes were...

Evaluation of Drought Tolerance in Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) Cultivars Using Drought Tolerance Indices

Drought is the most significant constraint for crop production in arid and semi-arid regions. In order to assess drought tolerance in fifteen rapeseed (Brassica napus) cultivars using yield-based drought tolerance indices, two experiments were conducted at the research station of College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran during 2009-2010 growing season. The cultivars were...
